The number of PVR screens at Hyderabad may seem miniscule in comparison to Delhi or Mumbai, but this doesn’t seem to deter the movie-going crowd.

With the launch of South India’s first and India’s 3rd IMAX theatre in Hyderabad at Necklace Road, film watching has donned a new avatar. Prasad entertainment colonnade has literally revolutioned the cine-going experience. Movies with special effects, mostly 3D ones, are run at the luxurious IMAX hall. The other five halls at Prasads have the regular screens where you can catch all of the latest Hindi, English and Telegu flicks. Prasad’s brand kiosks like Pepe, Lee, Indigo Nation and its numerous eating holes make pre-movie waiting and post-movie release a lot more fun.

Likewise, the five-screen PVR Cinemas constitute an integral part of the shopping experience at Hyderabad Central Mall in Panjagutta, with its array of latest English, Hindi and Telegu releases. PVR groups’ flagship hospitality, comfortable seats and amazing ambience make it one of Hyderabad’s most thronged cinema halls.

Those who want a close to "PVRish" experience without having to loosen their purse strings as much, can check out Adlabs (Ameerpet) and Cineplanet Multiplex (Kompally) for the latest Hollywood, Bollywood and Tollywood movies. Another one in that bracket, but with very rare inclusions from the Tollywood, is Talkie Town (Miyapur). Other decent options are Abid's Ramakrishna, Secunderabad’s Sangeet and Begumpet's Anand.

Exclusive movie theatres for the Telegu movie fan clan include Chikkadpally’s Devi and Sudarshan.

And, last but not the least, is Basheerbag’s Sterling, much sought-after by the college-going crowd.

To avoid being sorely disappointed, it’s recommended to book in advance via the internet or via the tele-booking facilities that are available at selected theatres.
